New Missouri farming legislation draws mixed emotions

Missouri Net – There are mixed emotions about new farming legislation recently signed by Missouri governor Mike Parsons. Senate Bill 391, proponents say, will prevent counties from imposing regulations on concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) that are stricter than state regulations. Critics of the legislation say this will prevent counties from protecting water and air. Governor Parson praised lawmakers for approving the new law scheduled to take effect on August 28.
